Youth Rifle Team

The Youth Rifle Team normally uses the indoor range to shoot from January to March.  Matches run from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday evenings at the Itasca Gun Club. Young shooters between the ages of 11 – 18 may sign up if they can demonstrate safe rifle handling. Both females and males, non-club members and club members may sign up to join the Youth Rifle Team.

All shooting is supervised by an adult Range Safety Officer.  Parents are welcome to come and watch. The indoor range includes an observation room, where you can watch the shooting from behind glass, so you don't need hearing protection when .22's are being fired.

This program is open to all youth 11-18 years of age.  All equipment is supplied, but participants may use their own rifles.  The first night is sign up and equipment assignment.  There may be some travel to competitions if available.  This is a precision NRA 4 position training.  Safety is foremost, students will learn proper positions, breathing, sight alignment and trigger control.  Awards are presented as they advance in ability.  Hope to see you there.

The indoor range/classroom is located at the intersection of Itasca County 61 and Itasca County 325.  For Internet mapping, use 28006 Arbo Rd, Grand Rapids.
