2008
Hunter Sight-in Days Report
Thanks to EVERYONE that helped make Sight-in Days 2008 a great
success! Once again the IGC members came through with flying colors.
Volunteers at the range are getting more efficient all the time and
it was rare to see any waiting lines during the sight in event.
We had an excellent turnout this year of 1299 guns. Down a bit form
the 1450 guns sighted in during the 2007 event, but still a solid
average number of shooters showed up to prepare for the 2008 Deer
Hunting Season.
Let’s get
ready for next year now. Sight in dates will be October 24th,
2009 through November 6th, 2009. If you will volunteer to lend a
hand, please call Conley Janssen 218-327-9518.

Minnesota Concealed Carry Permit Class
For anyone anticipating the need to apply for a new Concealed
Carry Permit or have one that’s about to expire soon, Triple T-C
has a class scheduled for Saturday December 13th, 2008
to be held at the Grand Rapids Public Works Building.
This is a full course approved by the State of Minnesota and
satisfies the state requirements to obtain a carry permit.
Triple TC and JFE LLC will be holding additional firearms classes
throughout the year. Class offerings will include a variety of NRA
classes such as home firearm safety, basic pistol and may soon
include reloading classes and other specialty classes. For
enrollment information about this class or more 2009 class
schedules, contact Conley Janssen 218-327-9518, email
idpa@itascagunclub.org or check the websites www.itascagunclub.org
and www.janfab.com
Triple T-C and JFE LLC are private firearm instruction specialists
who administer the Itasca Gun Club approved pistol permit classes.
The Itasca Gun Club encourages instructors to keep NRA training
credentials current by participating in teaching these courses.
Individual instructors are welcome to use the IGC facilities to
provide additional class offerings on any subject of interest to
the club membership and the shooting public.
Young hunters that want to earn their hunter safety certificates
are struggling to find enough class offerings and all DNR
Instructors qualified to offer the youth firearm training are
particularly encouraged to schedule some additional classes for
these youngsters.

How was
your Deer Hunting?
We see lots of folks
before the deer hunting season begins, but we rarely get to talk
after the season ends. There’s lots of room on the website for
pictures and stories about your deer season highlights. Tell us
what you saw, what you got and what you missed. Send your pictures
by email to president@itascagunclub.org or mail them to IGC, PO
Box 201, Grand Rapids, MN 55744
Indoor
Range Clubhouse Report
The indoor range
project we’ve been working on for the past few years has been
completed this fall as the water well, septic system and toilet
was finished.
With running water and indoor plumbing, the Itasca Gun Club can
finally provide the comfort that folks visiting the range for
classes, matches and special events deserve. Completing this
building project gives us the green light to go ahead with plans
to expand our class, meeting and event offerings and will really
enhance our ability to be creative.
As always, members of the Itasca Gun Club are encouraged to use
the facility to develop programs or events that promote the
shooting sports in any form. You’re in the driver’s seat! If
you’ve got an idea, we’ll do what we can to help bring it to
fruition.
